Warn Verb - Wyrom.png

1/20/18  (Rarr violated the first five examples of abuse of the Warn verb)

SEND[Palvella] got a moment? Please use REPORT to respond.

[Honeybeer Inn, Tap Room]
The lower walls are tinted plaster over stone, as evidenced by the chips at the exact level of the chair backs.  The bar itself is worn, and the low brass footrest is polished only by the shoes of the many customers who have cradled a pint while leaning against the bar.  You also see the Xanlin disk, the Snowmoon disk, the Uldrim disk, the Rykul disk, a simple wooden trunk, a polished oak menu and a halfling bartender.
Also here: Vhaentyr, Xanlin, Snowmoon, Felarion, Xanthras, Karthas, Melissara, Rykul, Uldrim

You blink.
Kotin smiles at you.

You say, "Looks like some god is looking for me."
Xanthras smiles at you.
Karthas smiles at you.
Rykul smiles at you.
Uldrim smiles at you.

You ponder.

report hello?
REPORT {message}
Please rephrase your report to include a message, not just one word or a name.  Thanks!

Karthas makes a complex gesture.
You seem to blend into the surroundings better.
Xanthras disbands his group.

Karthas's group just went east.

Rykul makes a complex gesture at you.
A silvery luminescence surrounds you.
A bright luminescence surrounds you.
You bow to Rykul.

You kneel down.

SEND[Palvella] Once you are done being spelled up please step away somewhere quiet.

You say, "Thank you very kindly."

PERSONAL INFORMATION

Name: Rykul Kal'Zaren
Profession: Sorcerer
Race: Dark Elf   Gender: Male

You stand back up.

>e[Honeybeer Inn, Main Room]
The walls and ceiling are paneled in dark cherry wood, which makes the room seem smaller than it really is.  Low-backed chairs upholstered with red leather seats are arranged beside a glowing brazier.  The sounds of clinking mugs and low voices provide the comforting sense that refreshments are near.  You also see a broad wooden staircase.
Obvious exits: east, west, out

The world grows blurry and indistinct.  After a moment everything becomes clear again.  Looking about, you see...

[Consultation Lounge]
The cozy surroundings of this simple conference room provide a much-welcomed respite from the chaos just outside its walls.  You notice several plush chairs arranged casually around the room in a comfortable grouping.
Also here: GameMaster Palvella
Obvious exits: none
Palvella smiles.

You nod to Palvella in greeting.
Palvella says, "Hello."

You see GameMaster Palvella.
She appears to be an imaginary friend.
She is tall.  She appears to be consumed with age.  She has clouded grey-green eyes and alabaster skin.  She has long, shiny mousy brown hair worn in a tightly wound bun.  She has an angular face and an a thick mass of scar tissue on her forhead..  She has a pair of mechanical goggles with clear glass lenses strapped across her eyes.
She has a tiny lightning bolt tattoo on her finger.
She is in good shape.
She is wearing a haphazard necklace of seaglass and bird skulls, a grey linen prize satchel slung over her shoulder, a grubby prize satchel slung over her other shoulder, a silk-lined black suede cloak, a large gold button, some thin ora-framed reading glasses, a rotating balance wheel, a shiny gold star, a worn leather bookbag with tarnished brass buckles, an ill-fitting mouse grey cardigan, a neatly pressed white shirt with a flared collar, a red delicous apple, the illegal Palvella sack that is stuffed with items no one should ever own, some nondescript practical shoes, and a silvery flyrsilk skirt pinned with a bright coral starfish.

Palvella says, "I wanted to touch base with you about your ongoing PvP situation with Rare and Vape."

Palvella says, "Just in case the Gamehost didn't explain this well, I'm going to go over what it means for all parties when a warn/interact is in place."

You listen carefully to Palvella.

Palvella says, "When another player uses warn interact with you, you should immediately cease all communications with and about that player."
Palvella says, "One of the things that can cause some confusion around this is using the act and smile commands."

You say, "I was told that I can still use smile command."

Palvella says, "Using :smiles at you. can make the player with the warn interact in place that you are interacting with them."
Palvella says, "And creates confusion."

Palvella says, "In situations where a warn interaction is in place it's best to avoid confusion."

Palvella says, "Instead of smiles at you, since you can't really smiile AT everyone at the same time. You can smile in a friendly and open manner."
Palvella asks, "See the difference?"

You say, "Nope."

You say, "Because he will still see that as my smiling at him."

You ask, "Have you read the logs?"

You say, "Https://kotin17.wixsite.com/kotin/rarr."

Palvella says, "No he does not see you smiling specifically at him."

You say, "I posted them."
Palvella says, "I have read the logs."

You say, "Then you will know that he violated nearly EVERY rule."
Palvella says, "I am aware."

Palvella says, "And it's being addressed."
\

You say, "I already can't "Rarr" to Svardin like I used to because Rarr moved into this town."
You say, "My bank is here."
You say, "All my friends are here."
You say, "I have been in this town for a year."

Palvella says, "You don't  have to leave town."

You say, "Rarr shows up, murders me and my friend."
Palvella says, "But you do have to not interact with Rarr in any form."

You say, "And continues to threaten me, daily."

You say, "I am not."

Palvella says, "And if Rarr interacts with you, you should say nothing and assist as you have been doing."
You say, "HE is choosing to interact with me by being here."

You say, "GemStone IV is designed for the enjoyment of everyone, and as a general rule, any behavior which is specifically targeted to lessen that enjoyment for another player, may be in violation of GemStone IV policy."

Palvella says, "He has a right to be in Icemule just like anyone else."

You say, "That is the first line of the abusive behavior policy."

Palvella says, "One that we take seriously."

You ask, "You are telling me, that I can't smile at people simply because Rarr ABUSED all the game rules, broke policy and is now staying around ME?"

Palvella says, "You can smile at people."
You say, "I have not been able to enjoy the game since he was allowed to stay here."

You say, "EVERYDAY he's at the spot I rested and interacted with my friends."
Palvella says, "It is not wise to use smile at you because it would seem as if you are antagonizing a player that you have a warn interact in place against."
You say, "In fact, I am a part of the storyline and I can't even take full part anymore because he's here."
You say, "He's moving in on me."
You say, "And you are doing nothing."

Palvella says, "First that's not true that nothing is being done."
Palvella says, "If nothing were being done, we would not be talking right now."
Palvella says, "What I won't discuss with you is what specific actions are being taken."

Palvella says, "Because we also respect every players privacy."

You ask, "You're telling, as the victim, that I can't continue playing as I have for a year with my friends because someone else, who has done such egregious things to me, is standing around where I am ?"

Palvella says, "I'm telling you that it's a bad idea to use :smiles at you in general and in the case specifially."

You say, "I do it to make new friends."
Palvella asks, "Are you smiling at the person there to kill you?"
You say, "And to avoid screen scroll."
Palvella says, "Then smile in a way that does not seem targeted."
You ask, "Who put the warn interact?"
Palvella says, "It doesn't matter."  **(It actually does, according to this announcement)**

You say, "Well, it does ... because I mistakenly said I did to the host ... looking in the logs, I see I put warn/harrasment."

Palvella asks, "Are you saying that now you are okay with interactions with Rarr?"

You say, "I never even knew about the verb WARN until Rarr used it on me, then sent profanity both in whisper and publicly."

You say, "Hell no."

You say, "I don't want anything to do with him."

Palvella says, "Alright then. As I said. It matters not who initiated it."  **(But it does according to the announcement)**

You say, "What you'r not understanding is that I've been here a year."

You say, "He moves in, murders me, and forces me to play differently."

Palvella says, "I do understand."

You say, "It's like the neighbor kills your dog, then says that if you tell anyone, they'll kill you too."

You say, "Actually ... it's a NEW neighbor."

You say, "Since he is NEW here."
You ask, "Can't you make him go somewhere else?"

Palvella says, "But you don't get to kill them. You get to call the cops or in the case the GMs and let them deal with it."

You say, "It's not like I'm following him around."
You laugh out loud!

You say, "Yes, then the cops let him return to the house next door."

You say, "And he keeps acting the same way."

You say, "In fact, he's turning people against me."
Palvella says, "And if you tun around a break the law too, then you are just a guilty."

Palvella says, "Even if they started it."

You say, "So, people who were friends, are not friendly anymore."

You ask, "What did I break?"

You ask, "Smiling?"

You say, "Seriously."
You ask, "Is that what this is about?  Smiling?"

Palvella says, "No, once the warn interact was initiated by Vape you pointed him out of hiding."

Palvella says, "That by the spirit of the warn verb was a violation."
Palvella says, "And then Rarr in turn used that to break the warn herself."
You say, "He murdered me, my friends and that SAME NIGHT, murdered a bunch of people in town by using the non-player friendly version of divine wrath."
Palvella says, "And things just spiraled further and further from there."

You say, "Hey."
You say, "You got the time line wrong."
You say, "He used the warn on me."
You say, "THEN SWORE AT ME."
You say, "So I pointed him out."
You say, "To warn my friends."
You ask, "Are you telling me that is wrong?"

You say, "I posted the log."
You say, "I did not hide that."

Palvella says, "And what you should have done was assisted instead of pointing him out."

You say, "He swore public and privately."

You say, "You assume too much."

Palvella says, "I know it doesn't sound fun for you...but that's the rules."
You say, "I already said that I did not even know what WARN was."
Palvella says, "Agreed. You did not know."
Palvella says, "Now you do."

Palvella says, "I really do understand your frustrations here."

You say, "He's harassing me all the time."

You say, "I don't think you do, sadly."
Palvella says, "But it's very hard to help if you are participating at any level."

Palvella says, "Even unintentionally by smiling."

You say, "You're telling me that you aren't upholding the first line of your policy."

You say, "GemStone IV is designed for the enjoyment of everyone, and as a general rule, any behavior which is specifically targeted to lessen that enjoyment for another player, may be in violation of GemStone IV policy."

You say, "My enjoymenet is being lessened severely."
You say, "I can't interact with my friends the way I used to."
Palvella says, "I am. It applies to ALL players. Not this player over that player."
You say, "And he's making it to where they aren't as friendly anymore."

You say, "Then please."
You say, "He is capped or very near."
You say, "He can go ANYWHERE."
You say, "I'm literally stuck in Icemule."

Palvella says, "And he has a right to be in Icemule and participate in a storyline just like anyone else."
You say, "There would be NO MORE problems if he weren't constantly in my face."
Palvella says, "His participation does not prevent you from participating."

You say, "It does."
Palvella asks, "How so?"

You say, "I cannot speak freely."
You say, "In his presence."

You say, "I cannot interact with my friends the way I used to."
You say, "People are becoming divided over this."

You say, "And are siding with him."
You say, "He is vocally abusing me on discord."

Palvella says, "If speaking freely means insulting or otherwise referencing someone who for all intents does not exist for you due to the warn interact."
Palvella says, "Then yes."
You say, "And, since he's been engaging in this behavior for some 13 years, people think it's okay."
You ask, "When have I insulted?"

Palvella asks, "What did you mean by not being able to speak freely?"
Palvella says, "I am not siding with anyone."

You say, "He has a standing threat over me ... it's in the log ... that he will murder me if I say something he does not like."
You say, "None of you required him to retract that."
You say, "Dirvy has not required retraction."

Palvella says, "I'm here to look into this issue. When you assisted, you were told we would look into it."
You say, "People are siding with him because he has 95 mill fame."

You say, "They are afraid of him or simply don't care about the new player."
Palvella says, "A warn interact means you should not be interacting with the player."  **(announcement clarifies this in my favor)**
Palvella says, "At all."
Palvella says, "They should cease to exist for you."

You say, "You just insinuated that I was insulting him."

You say, "What did I do, other than smile -- which I SPECIFICALLY ASKED ABOUT."

Palvella says, "You said you could not speak freely. I took that to mean you meant speaking in some manner about him."
You laugh out loud!

You say, "You presume I'm bad."

Palvella says, "Then the person you spoke to should have been more clear about the smile."

Palvella says, "I do not."

You say, "No ... if I say something he doesn't agree with, that's enough for him to kill me."
Palvella says, "If that happens you should assist and let the GMs handle it."

You laugh out loud!

You say, "I have ... it took too long and he ended up doing more harm."

Palvella says, "And whats more, you should not be referencing that player in any manner any more than they should be referencing you."  **(So, I need to track how much they are referencing me to determine how much I can reference them?  Why does he get to reference me?)**

You say, "I now have to ask people to cast unpresence on me."

You ask, "How have I referenced him?"
Palvella says, "I'm not saying you have. I'm just pointing out that you should not."
Palvella says, "Even when they do something to provoke you."
Palvella says, "The moment you break it you lose ground."

Palvella says, "Keep doing what you are doing."
Palvella says, "REPORT, ASSIST."
Palvella says, "Ask witnesses to be part of the assist."

You say, "I had thought he was going to murder me yesterday when he kept fogging to my rooms."
You say, "I reported ... nothing happened."

You say, "And he started stalking me."

You say, "Tried to pinch me."
You say, "Then I reported it again."
You say, "He has done this so many times ..."

Palvella says, "It's fine to REPORT. But always assist to follow up so that a record is created."  **(I DID and he continued to stalk me)**

You say, "I am flaberghasted at why he still exists."

You say, "Anyone found to be in violation of the policies described in this document, at the sole discretion of Simutronics, will be subject to the following:"

Palvella says, "Rarr stated that since you spoke to him after his comment about the dead not needing gems you wanted interactions with him."

Palvella says, "Do you see how it gets convoluted."  **(YOU should see how convoluted this is and focus on the criminal rather than the victim)**

You say, "First violation: The user will receive a warning describing the breach of policy Simutronics believes they have committed, either onscreen or via Email."

You say, "Second violation: The user will be locked out of GemStone IV for a period of up to one month, and will be notified via Email."

You say, "Third violation: The user will be locked out of GemStone IV permanently."

Palvella says, "I am well aware of policy."

You say, "I did not speak to him."
You say, "That is a lie."
Palvella asks, "Did you run off an report her for theft?"
You say, "I reported him for theft."
You say, "He stole from my friends."
You ask, "Are you telling me that I can't even protect my friends?"

Palvella says, "For you, this player no longer exists."

You say, "That is clearly violating my enjoyment of the game."
You say, "My entire character is based on defending his friends and town."
You say, "You are destroying MY character."
You say, "Make him move and it will all go away."

Palvella says, "If you want this all to stop, you have to adhere to the conditions of the WARN INTERACT." **(again, please read the announcement)**

You say, "You are not comprehending."

You say, "I am stuck here."
Palvella says, "Everytime you do something that can be questioned as a violation of the warn interact you set back the entire process."
You say, "He is turning people against me."
Palvella says, "I am comprehending."

You ask, "I can't even help my friends who are being harmed by him?"

Palvella says, "In this case no."
You say, "I am losing ALL enjoyment of the game."

Palvella says, "Again, in this case Rarr does not exist to  Kotin."

You ask, "So, I just sit by and watch the neighbor kill everyone?"
Palvella says, "And anytime Rarr crosses that line you should REPORT and ASSIST."

You say, "I did."

You say, "Wait."

You say, "I can't."
Palvella says, "Yes and trust that his doing so will result in appropriate punishments."
You say, "Because in doing so, I'm interacting with him."
You say, "Since I can't report him to the constable."
You say, "That is your own logic."

Palvella says, "I mean REPORT the command."

Palvella says, "Not reporting to the constable."
You ask, "Appropriate punishment?"
You say, "I am the one being punished."
You say, "You are punishing me."
You ask, "You ever see the thought net?"

You ask, "Or the SERVICE SHOW?"

Palvella says, "Things said on LNET are not inside of Gemstone or owned or controlled by GS."

You say, "I role play a Bandit Cleaver because my family was killed by bandits."

You say, "And Kotin does everything in his power to protect himself and others from bandits."

You say, "I'm not on Lnet."
You say, "I don't use lich."
Palvella says, "I would not advise anyone to use it."

Palvella shudders.

You say, "The way you are letting him get away with this behavior is making him feel like he can do ANYTHING."
Palvella says, "He can't."

You say, "I use Wizard FE and that's it."
Palvella says, "And you have to trust that GMs are paying attention."  **(Then where were they when I was being abused and calling for help??)**
Palvella says, "And that we will deal with it."

You say, "But, you see -- or maybe you don't see -- my entire character has to change because Rarr is here."

Palvella says, "You do the right thing. When something occurs REPORT immediately and assist."

You say, "I can't trust that when you are telling me I can't report him for theft, I can't smile at people in general, I can't say "rarr" to Svardin."

You say, "Here's the angle then ..."

You ask, "Whenever I am forced to notice him stealing, I'll just Report to you?"
You ask, "And you do something?"
You say, "Because that is clearly violating the warn/interact."

You say, "As he is FORCING me to observe his theft."
Palvella says, "No, stealing in and of itself is not mechanics or game abuse. If he is stealing from you, then yes there is an issue that needs addressing."

You say, "That is the same logic as me "smile at you"."

You say, "But, he is FORCING me to see that he's stealing."
You say, "This would not have happened yesterday if he had not stolen in front of me."

You say, "I did what I was told I was allowed to do."
Palvella says, "He stole a gem from the person he was going to raise."
Palvella says, "He stole it to make a chrism."

You say, "Doesn't matter."
You say, "I was forced to see him steal."
You say, "So I reported it."
You say, "And then he started magically stalking me."

Palvella says, "It does matter actually. You interjected your feelings about the player into the situation."
Palvella says, "And you should not be interacting with the player."

You laugh out loud!

You ask, "How is that different than "smile at you?"
You say, "He can cease to interject his feelings."
You say, "Then smiling would not be a problem."
Palvella says, "Because none of that conversation was directed at you. A player can't determine that something isn't directed at them when you use smile in that way."
Palvella says, "I'm passing this along from the GM who asked me to mention it to you."

Palvella says, "It creates the illusion that you are attempting to interact with someone who has expressly stated they want no interaction with you."
Palvella says, "And could be construed as breaking the warn."

You say, "That would not be so if he weren't stalking around for me."

You say, "He can hunt anywhere in the game."
You say, "He attacked me, verbally abused me, killed me and my friends, threatened to continue killing us."
You ask, "And I'm the one being harassed by the gods about smiling?"
You say, "Think on that."

You say, "Put yourself in my shoes."
You say, "New player."

Palvella says, "I'm trying to help you  in this. Look at it from my perspective for just a moment."

You say, "Some older player break every rule."
You say, "And then hide behind game mechanics."
You say, "That's abuse of mechanics."

Palvella says, "I'm telling all the things you need to do to ensure you don't break any rules."
Palvella says, "And make sure that you don't give this other player an out."

You say, "You're telling me that Kotin no longer exists."

Palvella says, "No Rarr no longer exists for Kotin."

You say, "Bandit Cleaving, friendly, helpful Kotin ... can't exist because someone who has broken every rule is constantly following him."

You say, "Okay."
Palvella says, "Do not talk to him or about him to other players."
You say, "He doesn't exist."
You say, "Got it."

Palvella says, "Period. Report if he does something to you."

You say, "That means, when I am "smile at you" I DON"T SEE HIM."

Palvella says, "Even if he fogs to your location while you are hunting."

You say, "I'm in constant fear that he's just going to murder me some more."

Palvella says, "Not if you are in town center as she is probably just fogging to town in that instance."
You ask, "What part of that don't you understand?"
Palvella says, "If he does REPORT immediately."

You laugh out loud!

Palvella says, "Let the GMs handle it."
You say, "You never replaced my BP or XP or silvers or opportunities from the escort to Ta'Illistim that he destroyed."

You say, "I'm the one losing every time."
You say, "This is how new players are treated ..."

You sigh.

Palvella says, "That's not true."

Palvella asks, "Do you think his fines for theft were taken from your account?"

You say, "That's been my experience."

Palvella says, "That's because you are only seeing things from your point of view."

You say, "I think the fines should be high enough to DETER it."

You say, "When I first started, I was rogue, saw other rogues picking in TC."

You say, "So I tried my hand at one ... disarmed 3-4 times to make sure."

You say, "I missed the trap ... Someone dispersed the gas cloud, no one was hurt."
You say, "I was thrown in jail."

Palvella says, "I think you need to forget about Rarr and work on enjoying the game and the friends you have."

You say, "The fine so so high for a new player, that I HAD to chose stocks."

Palvella says, "Even at the well you would have gone to jail for that."
You say, "I spent an hour."

You say, "And no one was even hurt."

You say, "The fine for murder and theft needs to be such that it deters the option of paying."

You say, "50-75 % of wealth will do that."
You say, "Then people will be compelled to choose the stocks."
You say, "To give them time to cool down."

You say, "Instead, wealthy people like rarr, pay the fine, get out and continue their attacks."
You say, "While the new and poor spend all the time in jail."

You say, "Oh, I not saying don't send me to jail ... I hope you understand that ... my point is that the fine is SO LOW for the rich, that it's simply a cost of doing business."

You say, "Roblar advised me to re-roll a warrior."
You say, "So I don't pick anymore."

Palvella says, "We are venturing into game balance issues and those are best addressed on the forums."

You say, "And, to make matters worse ... I can't even Challenge or fight back."  **(Due to free player status)**

You say, "I can't go on the forums."

You say, "And the last few questions I had, weren't answered the last time I checked."
You say, "On the free forums."

You say, "I'm starting to think this whole situation is being handled this way because it's free v's pay."

You say, "And since he's been paying so long, you not want to "ruffle his feathers"."
Palvella says, "It's not. It's being handled the way all PvP situations are handled."

You say, "Best to make sure the new guy can't continue role playing the way he has for a year."
Palvella says, "One that requires both sides strictly adhere to the warn interact."

You say, "Rarr's rp has not changed."
You say, "Yet, mine has to."

You ask, "How is that fair at all?"

You say, "I'm the victim of multiple crimes and I'm the one getting punished."
You ask, "If I can't smile at people and save people from bandits ... what is left for Kotin?"

Palvella says, "You can smile at people."

You say, "That has been my persona for the life of my character."
Palvella says, "Just don't use the act version of smile."

You laugh out loud!

You say, "When I first arrived in game, I was robbed and beaten."

Palvella says, "In this case it looks like you are smiling at someone you are not supposed to interact with."

You say, "And thrown out of town by two players who said I was "screen scrolling"."

You say, "Using smile at you was my way to avoid that."
You say, "And to make NEW friends."

You say, "Tell him that I don't exist then."
You say, "And that my smile is not for him."

You say, "That is EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE TELLING ME ABOUT REPORTING TO THE CONSTABLE."
You say, "You are telling me to ignore his thieving from MY FRIENDS."

Palvella says, "But from his point of view and everyone elses it looks as if it is."
You say, "Because "he does not exist"."

Palvella says, "Yes I am."
You say, "Then tell him that my smile is not for him "because I don't exist"."
You ask, "How hard is that?"

You say, "Your whole case against me is that I "smile at you."."
You say, "He can squelch me."
You say, "Then he won't see it."

You say, "I'm restricted by game mechanics from stealing or attacking him."
You say, "So he won't miss me doing any of that to him."

Palvella says, "I passed that along from another GM that mentioned it."
You say, "All he'll miss is my smile."
You say, "He can squelch me."

You say, "I won't squelch him because he has a history of breaking rules and I need to be able to see him so that I can run."

Palvella says, "He doesn't have to squelch you. He has to not interact with you in any way."  **(Then he should not response to corporate smiling)**
You say, "Like I tried yesterday."
You say, "Great."

Palvella says, "That is the limitations of the warn interact."
You say, "If your whole case is that I "smile at you"."

You say, "Then he can squelch that and will NEVER SEE ME."
You say, "That will still allow me to enjoy the game."

You say, "Which is clearly the INTENT of the game."

Palvella says, "Its really not. It was just one thing in the entire conversation."
You say, "His abusive and disruptive behaviors are being maginified by this... this silliness."

You ask, "Okay, what else is leveled against me?"

Palvella says, "And I'm asking you not to play into his  hands by doing anything that could be construed as interactions with him."
You say, "Tell me what is leveled against me."

You say, "I specifically asked about smile at you to the last GM."
You say, "And I was told that was okay."

You say, "Now you are saying not okay."
Palvella says, "It wasn't a GM. That was a gamehost."
You say, "I need to know what I'm apparently doing wrong."
You say, "You read the report."

Palvella says, "And normally its not an issue until you are dealing with someone who might exploit any loophole available."  **(Then if you are aware that he is exploiting the rules, deal with HIM)**

Palvella says, "This is dotting every i and crossing every t."
Palvella says, "And I'm sorry if you feel like I'm attacking you."

You exclaim, "Ah hah!"
Palvella says, "I'm trying to protect you."

You say, "You hit the nail on the head."
You say, "He is exploiting loop holes in the game mechanics."

You say, "That is an offense."

You say, "Yet, I'm the one being chastened."

Palvella says, "Which can't be dealt with if there is any question as to fault."
You say, "Have him squelch me."
You say, "And he won't ever see it again."
Palvella says, "We are not required to force him to squelch anyone."
You say, "Again, game mechanics forbid me from stealing/attacking other players."

You say, "Yet, you are forcing me to change my entire persona."
You ask, "Logic?"

Palvella says, "Everyone must alter their RP when a warn interact is in play."  **(From Wyrom: Unless actual POLICY is being broken, GameMasters aren't going to enforce parties to move at a storyline or event, but since the person using WARN has a problem, they should be the one who leaves if someone has to go.)**

Palvella says, "Not just you."
You ask, "What have I done, other than smile at you?"
You say, "So that I can avoid this in the future."

You say, "No."
You say, "You are wrong there."
You say, "He has not altered his RP."
You say, "He continues to steal."
Palvella says, "Stealing is not a policy violation."  **(Niether is reporting it to the constable!!)**

You say, "And you're telling me that I'm required to be forced to watch it."
Palvella says, "You are not to interact with Rarr in any way."
You say, "No, but taking advantage of game mechanics is."
Palvella says, "At all."

Palvella says, "If anything occurs you should use REPORT and ASSIST."

You say, "And, as you said, "Palvella says, "And normally its not an issue until you are dealing with someone who might exploit any loophole available."."
You say, "We are looking at someone who is trying to exploit the system."

You say, "He clearly is exploiting."
You say, "If you did read the logs."
Palvella says, "I did read them."
You say, "You saw he used Vape to warn/harass, then swear twice at me."
You say, "Then use his alt Rarr to murder and swear at me."

Palvella says, "And you continued to engage him once the warn interact was in place. I get that you didn't understand what that meant."  **(from what I learned later, WARN is for the character, not the player, therefore, I did not continue to violate the WARN after the player changed characters.  However, he did violate policies by using another character to engage in non-roleplay pvp)**

You say, "And threatened to murder me and my friends."
Palvella says, "And now I've come to make sure you do."

You say, "And they go ahead and murder my friends."

Palvella says, "Then your friends should REPORT and ASSIST too."
You say, "I pointed Vape out because he was using language at me."
You say, "And recently stole."
Palvella says, "Taking maters into your own hands will never net the results you want."

Palvella says, "But you did that after he warned you."

Palvella says, "I get it. You didn't know."

You say, "Apparently neither does showing the GM's the rules broken by a player either."

You say, "I am simply at a loss here."

Palvella says, "But you can't say he needs to stop and then do some action/interaction."
You say, "I have had no record."

You say, "I have been an upstanding citizen of the game since I started."

You say, "And now, I'm the one at fault."

Palvella says, "And because we don't talk about players accounts due to our privacy policy you have not idea what anyones record is."

You say, "Listen ... mayhaps I'll just leave the game."
You say, "That's apparently what you guys want."
Palvella says, "And when I spoke of loopholes I was speaking generically about PvP."

You say, "Seriously ... what's the point of playing."

You say, "I did not engage in PvP."  **(Free players CAN'T engage in pvp, but they are free to be killed by paying players)**
You say, "HE DID."

You say, "You are acting just like Dirvy and the others who have known him for so long."

You say, "Blaming the victim."

Palvella says, "What you can't see is that by the letter of the law, you both did."

You smile.

You say, "That letter should be updated and made clearly available to players."
Palvella says, "Agreed."
Palvella says, "But that doesn't change where we are now."

You say, "Https://gswiki.play.net/index.php?title=PvP_and_CvC_Conflict&action=history."

Palvella says, "Now I'm here trying to help you to make sure that going forward you are blameless in this."
You say, "That is the history of the wiki on the warn verb."
You say, "It was NOT EVEN AVAILABLE."

You say, "Until IIIII pointed it out."
Palvella says, "It is there."

You say, "It started on the 9th of this month."
You say, "5 days after the incident."

You say, "So, the letter of the law was not written for the new players."

You say, "There was NO WAY anyone would know unless they've been playing for years."
You say, "Therefore, I DID NOT break the letter of the law."

You say, "Because it was not there."
You say, "For me to read."

Palvella says, "Actually when the player warned you  you could have typed warn and gotten the information."

You ask, "Right ... in between clear violations of the swear policy?"
You ask, "Someone is attacking you and you will stop to read a paper they just threw at you?"
You ask, "Logic?"

You say, "I am telling you this because it is clear that no one is looking at this from my perspective ... when I play a game, I read the rules."
You say, "WARN was not part of those rules."
You say, "Then, when a new rule is presented, I ask ... as you can read in the report from the host."

Palvella says, "You are right and this information needs to be clearer on the wiki."  **(It wasn't even available on the wiki until I made NUMEROUS inquiries)**

You ask, "So, you retract?"
Palvella asks, "Retract what?"

You ask, "That I broke the letter of the law?"
You ask, "Or I still broke it even though it was not available?"
Palvella says, "No. Ignorance of the law is no excuse. Ask any judge."  **(bad answer--even if from a judge as laws are written everyday and it would be impossible to keep track of them all, hence specialization in various forms of law by professionals, including judges.)**

Palvella says, "There is no penalty associated with you violating the warn interact."
Palvella says, "I was merely pointing it out because it served to allow the other party to claim that it had been broken by you."
Palvella says, "I'm trying to make sure it doesn't go down that way again."
Palvella says, "I feel like I've interfered with your playtime long enough."

You say, "Which was an abuse of the game mechanics."
You ask, "Don't you see?"

Palvella says, "Certainly longer than I intended."
Palvella says, "No I don't see."

You smile.

Palvella says, "If you have any issues with Rarr attempting to interact with you in some way, please ASSIST and REPORT."

Palvella says, "Or Vape."
Palvella says, "And then trust that the GMs will handle it."
Palvella says, "And don't interact in any way with Rarr."

You say, "There is no trust."

You say, "You are counting me as wrong for smiling."
You say, "Society is really heading down hill."  **(when it's against the law to smile)**

You say, "Thank you for your time."

Palvella says, "I'm sorry you see it that way."
Palvella says, "That was never my intent."

You say, "It's your stance."
You say, "I can't smile, but he can force me to watch him steal from my friends."

Palvella says, "My stance is the one I have to have when I reports to make sure they stick."

You say, "Yep ... breakdown."

You say, "I'm working to get a text-based game in my school district."
You say, "I'll look else where now."

Palvella says, "It seems we are at an impasse here.  You see me as making you wrong and I see this as helping you not cross a line even unintentionally.."

You say, "I don't want to subject those students to abuse by older players who are protected by the gms."
You say, "I don't want to cross lines with him."

Palvella says, "I'm not protecting anyone."

You say, "What you are not understanding is that I'm stuck in Icemule and he's not."
You say, "The only complaint you have against me is me smiling."
Palvella says, "Just because you don't see the fallout doesn't mean there isn't any."
You ask, "Do you hear how ridiculous that is?"
You say, "I've been stalked, murdered, friends taken away."

You say, "I can't even sit in TC anymore."

Palvella asks, "Do you not hear that I pointed out that you should never have pointed out Vape and never reported Rarr for theft with a warn interact in place?"
Palvella says, "So no, it's not just smiling."

Palvella says, "It's all of it combined that could be made into something it isn't."

You say, "I used the game system to report him."

You say, "And you are saying I was wrong."
Palvella says, "Yes as you should have."
You say, "Good."
You say, "Thank you."

Palvella says, "When you reported him to the constable that was a violation of the warn interact."
You ask, "Wait, what?"

You sigh.

Palvella says, "A warn interact means you do  not interact with  the player what so ever."  **(read Wyrom's post please, Rarr should have left)**

Palvella says, "AT ALL"

You say, "Then tell him to not steal in my presence."
You say, "Otherwise he it INTERACTING WITH ME."
Palvella says, "I thought you meant the assists and REPORT."

Palvella says, "He's is not interacting with you and stealing is not a policy violation unless he's stealing from you."

You say, "He's stealing my eyes."
You say, "I've ignored him all I could."

You say, "In any case, you all seem adamant that I'm wrong."
You say, "I'll be on my way."
You say, "Thank you for your time."

Palvella says, "Kotin, I'm going to say this one more time. Do not interact with Rarr or  Vape in any way. Do not acknowledge them or speak of them to other players. Doing so is a violation of the WARN INTERACT and could result in consequences."
Palvella says, "I'll send you back now. I'm sorry if I've interrupted your RP for the evening."

You laugh at Palvella!

Palvella says, "Please do ASSIST if you feel there is more to add to this issue."

You say, "Apparently, nothing I say is worth anything to you."
You say, "What's the point."
You say, "Thank you for your time."

Palvella says, "Enjoy your evening as best you can."

>The world grows blurry and indistinct.  After a moment everything becomes clear again.  Looking about, you see...

[Honeybeer Inn, Main Room]
The walls and ceiling are paneled in dark cherry wood, which makes the room seem smaller than it really is.  Low-backed chairs upholstered with red leather seats are arranged beside a glowing brazier.  The sounds of clinking mugs and low voices provide the comforting sense that refreshments are near.  You also see a broad wooden staircase.
Obvious exits: east, west, out
